Assignment 6

Most of the researchers want their research to be published in the top-tier journals which is considered as their top achievement in their field. In order for the research to be published the first step is to submit the research to the top-tier journals and in order for the research to undergo critique by the board of the top-tier if it qualifies the factors.

For me, the key factors for publishing research is the economic factor of the research in our world by which the research should be helpful in our world especially in solving economic problems, the impact factor in which the research have a great impact to the world of technology, the content factor which the research content is true and gives a new knowledge.

Q: How do you know if a piece of research work is good or not? How are they evaluated?

For me, I can say that such research work is good if it has everything in concern with its research topic, meaning it focuses only to its scope and it is limited, a research work that can make bright or dull reader understand, simple but has all the information and ideas related to the research topic, also a good research work must have illustrations or table to be more logical and explicable. Other is it should be well presented, with a right combinations of phrases and paragraphs. A research work are evaluated through its contents, its impact to its readers, on how it convince the reader and has the answer to whatever questions that the reader may have, of course that is related to the research topic.

What do you think is the role of research topic in deciding your future career?

As a student most of us conduct researches it is one of the basic need. A research is like discovering, experimenting new things and explores your field of interest. In choosing a research it is most important that the topic is related to IT or CS and of course it should be in our field of interest. Since, we are the one to conduct it and research on it, it is necessary to choose the topic you like. Because in the near future, whatever outcome of my study. It will be a reference that I have done something beautiful in my college life. And I explore the field where I belong. The research or research topic will somehow give me publicity if it is beautiful and interesting. And so, some company will hire me to conduct some research and be paid by it. And by this research I can gain knowledge some knowledge that can only be found in doing research. Enhance my ability in dealing people because some research definitely needs an interaction with other people. Also makes me a resourceful person in the fact research requires money since I am a student I need to make my research not that expensive. Use my initiative to conduct this research. This are the roles of research topic in deciding my future career as a researcher.

As a CS/IT student of USEP, what research topics should usually be address?

As we all know computer science and information technology courses focuses more on technical like software and hardware and management aspect. As a student in information technology I must conduct a research about those topics i stated earlier. And by conducting a research it should be helpful in our society and for us student and people who are in this world of information technology.

This is my answer in finding out what is the state of computer science research.

There are lot of information and articles about the state of computer science research in the internet and as I examine those articles. I’ve just realize that computer science is all about the study of theoretical foundations of all the information and apply them in the computer systems, and computer science also the study of information, structure, representation and utilization.


Since computer science has many fields like computer graphics. Well about of computer science research is expensive since it’s a research it requires money and also requires to travel in order for the research to be made. One of the articles I have read is the “Computer Science Research in India” the author stated that “Many computer science researchers in India have endeavored to carry out high caliber research in spite of limited infrastructure and resources to conduct and communicate their research.” though the researchers in India have limited resources in the way of communications they try to give a quality research that what should be the attitude of computer science researchers. Well, about its technical topics are: engineering, commerce, algorithms, computations, theory, analysis, design, efficiency, implementation, and application of computer programs (software) and computer equipment (hardware).

Effect of the Internet on Financial Markets

Internet is worldwide, it is public which many people uses it in order to communicate and make transaction along it. Internet has a great role in our society nowadays since most of us including children know how to use it. And as technology goes by the markets uses it. The study about “The Effect of the Internet on Financial Markets” by Hal R. Varian of School Of Information Management and Systems of the University of California in September 1998 tackles about what are the advantages and disadvantages of Internet in the Financial Markets. About the retail transactions in financial services states that since 1996 there where about 1.5 million of brokerages accounts by 1998 there where 5.3 million of accounts. So it states that the Internet has a great role in our markets. And it is also show that more brokers adopt the on line transaction rather than the full-service brokerages.

Machine-Assisted Election Auditing

An election play an important role in the government since this is the way people chooses the persons who will lead the country. Since many of us know how in our government make the election procedure. This machine-assisted election auditing helps to easily count the votes of the people in minimum span of time. It is wonderful if our government adopt this machine since this machine helps the Comelec to lessen the money paid for the election officers. And lessen the “agawan ng balota” here in the Philippines; also monitors and broadcast the votes of the people easily. And minimize the “dayaan”.

The Demand for Bandwidth

According to the wikipedia free encyclopedia that bandwidth it mostly refers as a bit rate measured in bits and example of it is the network throughput which is the connection of data rate which is also according to Hartley’s law. As we all know that the internet is widely used in our world today for ordinary users they just want to chat and do researches through net they don’t even know what the bandwidth is. But for us as an advance user bandwidth really matters a lot because this states how fast connection of our computer to the net.
