After Then...

After how many hours of searching, studying and reading about XHTML I have made a simple code when I tried validating it. it says that

"This document was successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional!
Result: Passed, 1 warning(s)"

WOW I am so amaze that I have create a site that is validated by the W3 org. now I’m satisfied on my work actually I have only done the part one of my assignment but I’m so thankful about it. maybe tomorrow I will finish the part two. Then by the next day is the part three. Until I finish the assignment up to part 4 that will be passed not later than Christmas day. Good luck to me and also to my classmate I’m sure they have created our assignment better than me. Good luck guys and enjoy the Christmas Vacation.

XHTML headache

I have a headache right now one of the major cause of this is the XHTML. What is XHTML? According to site http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#strict “is a family of current and future document types and modules that reproduce, subset, and extend HTML 4. XHTML family document types are XML based, and ultimately are designed to work in conjunction with XML-based user agents.” That’s how they define XHTML.

But for me, as I define XHTML, XHTML is so “strict” why I define it as STRICT? I have tried coding and every time I validated it, it will always prompt errors and warnings. I hate XHTML but I need to love it because it is one of my subjects right now (huhuhu). I always have headache every time I face my computer and creating my assignment in Internet Programming. I always search about XHTML and read some tutorials in order to minimize my errors when I validated it to the http://validator.w3.org/ . I have read a lot tutorial but until now I have hard time figuring out what those mistakes, errors and warning all about.

After making this blog post of mine I will start my coding in XHTML and then my headache will start again. I just create this blog post to minimize my headache about XHTML (hehehe).

evaluating a system

Assuming you were tapped by the university president to evaluate the new enrollment system implemented this semester, enumerate your observations/comments and suggest possible areas and ways where improvements can be made. Your observations/suggestions should be properly validated with facts and literatures...(you may start with the diagrams posted in the strategic locations of the university)... (3000words)

Every schools, universities and colleges has its own enrollment system. Here in the university of Southeastern Philippines this past few years was used an enrollment system that was developed by an outsourcing company. The University of Southeastern Philippines paid the outsourcing company to maintain the system. But know this year the University uses a new enrollment system that was developed by the two instructors in the Institute of Computing here in the university.

For me, the old system or the enrollment system was the convenient one for me and also to those college that have few students or enrollees since they don’t need to fall in line just to be officially enroll. Also we used the old enrollment system for almost 4 years and it is convenient for us and those who uses the old enrollment system for the past 3 to 4 years. But as we all know if we don’t embrace change how can certain object improved if we don’t embrace change. Here below is the flow of old enrollment system, for OLD Student first is Paying of fees (Local Council fee, Obrero Campus Student Council fee, collegiate headlight fee and Insurance), second (For scholars) Validate scholarship at the Office of Student Services, third go to your college adviser, submit or present all necessary documents, and secure a Pre-Registration form, fourth Fill up the Pre-Registration form and have your adviser to sign it, fifth submit the Pre-Registration form to the encoder and secure Certificate of Registration, sixth (For scholars) Verify student accounts at the bookkeeper. (For non-scholars) Pay tuition fee at the cashier, seventh complete enrolment by getting stamped “Officially Enrolled” at the Registrar, lastly validating the library card. For freshmen and new student first go to UGTO and fill up student records, second paying of fees (IC Local Council fee, Obrero Campus Student Council fee, collegiate headlight fee and Insurance), third For scholars) Apply for a scholarship at the Office Student Services, Enroll in ROTC or CWTS, fourth go to your college adviser, submit or present all necessary documents, and secure a Pre-Registration form, fifth filled up the Pre-Registration form with the sign of the adviser, sixth submit the Pre-Registration form to the encoder and secure Certificate of Registration, seventh (For scholars) Verify student accounts at the bookkeeper. (For non-scholars) Pay tuition fee at the cashier, eighth submit all necessary documents/requirements and complete enrolment by getting stamped “Officially Enrolled” at the Registrar, ninth apply for a library card.

This is the flow of the current enrollment system this is for the Enrollment Procedure for New Students and Transferees first go to University Guidance and Testing Office for encoding of student information and ID number assignment. Then if you are a scholar go to OSS for scholarship application and releasing of scholarship card. After in ROTC/CWTS for registration and sectioning of CWTS/ROTC, Releasing of CWTS/ROTC slip. Afterward Go To The department or College where you want to be enrolled. Present enrollment requirements, Advising/Pre-registration, Payment of other fees (Local council, OCSC, Headlight and Insurance), Encoding, Assessment of fees, Temporary COR printing. Next go to Registrar and submit enrollment requirements such as Form 138(High School Card), Photocopy of NSO birth certificate, USEPAT entrance examination result, Admission slip, Medical certification, Certificate of Good Moral (original), 2pcs 2x2 ID picture, Prospectus of the enrolled course, 1 pc long brown envelope, Official receipt of tuition and other fees and Printing of Official COR.

This is the enrollment procedure for old students first go to student accounts window and checks the following: student accounts, balance and the clearance signing. Then go to your college office for first advising or pre-registration, second payment of other fees (Local council, OCSC,Headlight and Insurance), third for encoding of the subjects, fourth the assessment of fees and the temporary COR printing. If you are a scholar you must proceed to student accounts to submit temporary COR and to post your accounts. If not a scholar you can now proceed to the cashier to submit your temporary COR and pay your matriculation then the cashier will print your receipt. Lastly go to Registrar and present the following: clearance, official receipts (tuitions and other fees) and the assigned registrar will print your official COR.

This is the enrollment procedure for shiftees first go to student accounts window and checks the following: student accounts, balance and the clearance signing. Then go to your former college get the following letter: request to shift and recommend to shift. After that go to your desired college and present the letters then the new college will accept you and the adviser will advise you. Then go to University Guidance and Testing Office for the student profile update. Then go to your college office for first advising or pre-registration, second payment of other fees (Local council, OCSC, Headlight and Insurance), third for encoding of the subjects, fourth the assessment of fees and the temporary COR printing. If you are a scholar you must proceed to student accounts to submit temporary COR and to post your accounts. If not a scholar you can now proceed to the cashier to submit temporary COR and pay your matriculation then the cashier will print your receipt. Lastly go to Registrar and present the following: clearance, official receipts (tuitions and other fees) and the assigned registrar will print your official COR.

Actually I don’t know how to evaluate a system what are the major parts need to evaluate if I will evaluate the database of the system or the coding or the logic or anything. But I have read an article that about evaluating a system I think will also help me in evaluating the enrollment system. But one question that bothers me, why does the university need to get or need to shift to a new enrollment system? I don’t know what’s the primary reason but for me I think that the university don’t have enough money to pay for the maintenance of the system or they want to use the in source programmers? This is an article that I have read and I don’t know who made this article I only read this in a notepad sorry if I didn’t recognize the author of the article. But this article helps me a lot and I want you to know it. this is about the “What to look for in a Database System”

1. Does the system appear easy to use?
Assuming you received a demo disk or watched a product demonstration, you should be able to get a feel for how to use the system. Are the instructions on the screens easy to understand? Are there clear menu selections? Is there a logical flow of steps or processes to follow? Can you use the mouse to give instructions or move from one screen to another? Are the instructions written in English as opposed to "computer-ese"? These are a few of the things to look for in evaluating how user-friendly the system is.
2. Does the system have adequate installation and reference documentation?
Will you be able to install the system yourself or will the vendor provide this service? Are there adequate, clearly written instructions provided? Is there user or reference material included with the software? If possible ask to see written documentation before you purchase.
3. Is the database relational?
A relational database (as opposed to a flat file) means you can have multiple jobs in process at the same time, while keeping track of each one. For example, with a relational database, you are able to have dozens of active jobs, each at a different stage. At any time, you can locate a particular job, identify the respondents and the client associated with it, and edit information pertaining to the job. And even after the job is closed, you can revisit that job and identify all the details of the job, including the respondents who participated in it. A relational database has obvious advantages over a flat file.
4. Does the system have features that will save you time and money?
Look for the extra features that can boost your productivity. Mailing labels and reports are useful. Pre-formatted recruiting lists and/or sign-in sheets will save you time. Client invoicing is a handy option. If you can identify at least one feature that will save you a significant amount of time that database system will probably be a sound investment.
5. Is the database written in an application that is widely used and has a good reputation?
There are dozens of database applications on the market today. They vary tremendously in cost, ease of use, and popularity. Some database applications have very specialized uses. If the database system you purchase is written in one of the more popular applications (e.g. Access, Paradox, SQL Server), you will gain several advantages. First, your vendor or developer will have better access to technical support. This will benefit both of you if there's a bug or problem your developer has not previously encountered. Second, it will be easier for you to exchange data with other applications such as a word processing program or spreadsheet. Finally, using a popular application will give you peace of mind if you have an emergency and your files need to be recovered or restored. You are more likely to find help locally if your database system is written in one of the more popular applications.
6. Can the system import and export data to and from other applications?
Suppose you acquire a computerized list of respondents, along with their addresses, dates of birth, and other demographic information. Rather than manually entering each record into your database system, you might prefer to import the information directly into your database. A system that imports and exports data in the form of text, spreadsheets, for these purposes can save hours of data entry time.
All the mentioned above is a great help when evaluating a database system this is also helpful in our SAD subject.

COMDDAP

COMDDAP or the COMPUTER MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS AND DEALERS ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES is an association of the country's top information technology businesses, leaded by their president JEFFERSON T. PLAZA (General Manager, Advance Solutions, Inc). Promoting the sustainable development of the of the country's information technology industry through voluntary collaboration of its member companies is the primary objective of the said association. COMDDAP also provides their members general views and updates from different high individuals and sectors, private or non private to keep up the spirit and the knowledge to its organization. Its vision is to promote and elevate the standards of IT or the Information Technology in the Philippines associated by the groups of outstanding computer companies. The vision of promoting and elevating the standards of Information technology (IT) in the Philippines fueled a group of prominent computer companies to form the Computer Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines or COMDDAP. Its initial member-companies represent the world's leading makers and providers of computer products, solutions and peripherals. In 1997, the manufacturing sector - represented by industry leaders Hewlett Packard, Epson and Compaq, among others - was integrated into the COMDDAP membership, making the association a more diverse representation of the IT sector and thus the new name, COMPUTER MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS AND DEALERS ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES. This is according to the http://www.comddap.org/aboutus.htm

Last July 2, 2009 an important event has been conducted in Apo View Hotel in Davao City with tht title “COMDDAP DAVAO EXPO 2009” I think this is one of the biggest event held in Mindanao that talks about IT industry. I was first registered for the seminar which will be held at Apo View Hotel last July 2, 2009 at the http://www.comddap.org/aboutus.htm but unluckily a confirmation was not sent to me so I registered to this link http://www.nexusgroup.com.ph/tng/registration.php . Me, and my classmate went to Apo view around 10 o’clock am but we don’t know where the room of the seminar about the Windows Server 2008 - Edupro Inc. So we take a look at the exhibit in which there are a lot of exhibitors. Many of technology were introduced and put in to exhibit.
Around 11 o’clock in the morning we take our launch and by 12 o’clock noon we went to the room where the seminar will be held there we wait for an hour in order to start the seminar. The first presenter was the The ERIC Dealer Management System - Jupiter Systems, Inc. in which they introduce us about their products and the system they are using. I’m not so interesting about the topic since they merely focus on the cars. But when they tackled about the system they are using I was then interest about the system. The system they are using is the SERVICE MANAGEMENT. Jupiter Systems incorporated is a Philippine-based IT company dedicated to delivering business solutions for medium to large companies globally. JSI is one of the most experienced software houses in the Philippines and was one of the pioneers of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in the country. The company has been delivering business solutions for the past 25 years. According to their site http://www.jupitersystems.com.ph/about.aspx.

around 2 o’clock in the afternoon the next presenter was the The HP Thin Client - Nexus Technologies, Inc.. they tackled about the thin client. According to the Wikipedia.org “Thin Client is a client computer or client software in client-server architecture networks which depends primarily on the central server for processing activities, and mainly focuses on conveying input and output between the user and the remote server. In contrast, a thick or fat client does as much processing as possible and passes only data for communications and storage to the server”. Thin client has its features that saves electricity and produces less radiation.

It is nice to be involved in this kind of activities. Activities that will open or eyes and mind in the real world of information technology and business. Many of us including me don’t really know what will be my future carrier to take. I’m so grateful that I have join and participate in the activity. I’m looking forward those activities will be held in Mindanao especially in Davao City.

TENSION

one of the things that i dont want to feel.
this feeling can cause me heartache.
i feel that i cannot breath,
my heart beats faster.
my muscles wont work.

i dont know why is this happening.
i feel when im in a situation like this
im one of the reason of this situation.
is this a part of growing up?
if it is i dont want to grow up.
people may think im weak.
but truly im weak.
maybe they find me strong but im weak.

its just i dont want to be in this kind of situation.
i dont know why im acting like this
acting stupid, acting weak, acting like a child,
who my playmate get my favorite toy.
acting strange, acting who im not with myself.

this is the first time i feel uneasy.
uneasy with people around me.
uneasy to talk
uneasy to let go
uneasy to for me to say sorry.
uneasy to my environment

i want to tell to the person
who i have hurt in today and yesterday.
now the sun is shinning

its a sign that there is a new day
a new opportunity to come
a new tomorrow
a new possibilities
a new you

but for me damage has been done.
move forward and always face forward
its a start of a wonderful tomorrow.

in house resources

What do you think is/are the reasons why the university decided to tapped in-house resources, was it a good decision? ( 1000 words )

It was a big issue when the two of our professor in the Institute of Computing tapped by the university to develop the University of Southeastern Philippines Enrollment System. I wonder why they are tapped? Because there is an existing enrollment system. I don’t think the primary reason why they tapped in house resources to develop an enrollment system.

In housing, outsourcing this is the primary issue in the university. The enrollment system we used in last years was developed by a third party company or what we also called outsourcing company. As we all know outsourcing company is expensive and every month the university spend a lot of money. Many of us wonder why we the university outsource for the last years? Maybe it’s because the administration of the university have no faith in the in house resources, and maybe there are persons recommended to outsource rather than in sourcing. For me the following are the reasons why the university decided to tapped in-house resources because:
Less expense. This is one of the primary reasons why the university decided to tap in-house resources. As we all know the university had an enrollment system which was develop by an outsourcing company. And I heard that almost 70, 000 pesos a month was paid just to maintain the enrollment system. In that case I want to be a programmer hehehe. But primarily the issue that by using outsourcing the classroom of the university and the laboratory are not equip with resources because of the wrong investment of the university in outsourcing which we all know its expensive. So the university taps the in house resources like our two professors in the institute of computing. By using the two in house resources the university needs not to pay a lot of expense in creating the USEP enrollment system. And it is always easy for the administration to monitor what was the progress of the enrollment system. In case of changes in the flow of the university enrollment system it will easy for the university to modify. Since it is only walking distance to the developer of the enrollment system. And the developers are accessible

Maintenance is easy. In developing a system or an enrollment system it primary requires maintenance since many bugs and irregularities may occur during the running of the program. Bugs are everywhere it can destroy or make the system malfunction. That the primary reason why we need a maintenance of the system. Since here in the university the enrollment system is useful especially in enrollment season. If a certain bugs or malfunctioning of the enrollment system. It is easy for the user to call the developers of the system. And the user can say what they want to the system and can easily say the problem in the system since the developers are employees of the university. It is the developer will maintain the enroll system which is easy for them since they are the developer of the program.

Future purposes. In the near future specifications may change, a new course, new college will evolved new expenses can be added, new registrar , new personnel and many changes may occur in the near future. It is easy for the university to make changes in the enrollment system since the developers are in house or employee of the university.

The university creates a good decision in tapping the in house resources two instructor of the university. Because by in housing the talent of our professor will be shared through the development of the enrollment system of the university. It was last year when our instructor was tapped it was maam Tammy and sir Michael they are good in programming and database. Sir Michael is my instructor in database 1 – 3 and software engineering 1 & 2. Maam Tammy was supposed to be our System Analysis and Design 1. Sir Michael is good in database since he was our instructor since in first years of our stay in the university. I guess they make the enrollment system wonderful. For me I don’t see what are the difference between the past enrollment system and the present enrollment system. But the person who are primary see the difference between the system are the user like the cashier, secretary, encoder, adviser, dean and the administration. Because they are the primary users of the system. They can see the difference since they are using the old enrollment system for the past years. The primary goal of the university why they tapped in house resources is to make the transaction of the university faster and accurately.
But if I were the university administration I want to the university to outsource not because I don’t have faith in the in house resources but because in outsourcing company they have a development team composed of system analyst, programmers and testers. The outsource company can provide the best programmer and satisfaction to the customers. The university can choose what will be the platform of the program the university can decide java, javascript, c, c++, joomla, mysql, mssql, css, htm and many more programming language and databases. If the outsourcing company doesn’t satisfy your requirement then you can navigate to other outsourcing company. The university can decide when will be the deadline of the program or system. The outsourcing company is flexible in all the requirement of the client. As I know that outsourcing companies primary goal is to satisfy the customer.
But for now.. in this moment we should work hard in order to finish our projects in SAD 2 and maybe by that our project the university will tapped us to create a web portal in the university. Or what ever program they will give to us with a big price.. not just big price but a big opportunity to start. In the field of information technology and computer science. Let God guide us and our professor also will guide and support us.

how SAD????

Our group having hard time setting date and time for our consultation since each one of us has its own personal appointments. Every time we have a plan to have a consultation to our professor my group mates always got bored then in the end of the story we cannot see our professor because when they wait almost an hour they got bored.

Our proposal period we have find a lot time thinking what will be our proposal since our professor didn’t agree to our first proposal but then we come up with our proposal about the Scheduler. But actually I love my group mates though they make me high blood hehehehehe. Because every time we plan to meet @ 9 am they come around 10 am or worst 1 pm…. (george to).. hahahahah

But luckily we are now in the process of validating our questionnaire. But me and my group find hard time in questionnaire. We thought at first that questionnaire will not be validated but now it should be.. hahaiz.

God Bless Us

32. Reduce the overall management burden while retaining control of strategic decision making.

Outsourcing is advantageous to a company if the company can afford to outsource. If the company or organization will not turn out to lay-off their personnel just to outsource.
For me in USEP they must outsource since they have a big budget and by outsourcing our professors in Institute of Computing will not be hired to create a system and they will only focus in teaching. Since they apply in the university as a instructor not just a programmer. Though they have the skills but it is more likely to share those skills to the student rather than making a enrollment system in the university.

sakspan lagi...

February 12, 2009. today is the election day in USEP… I have no class and I went to school wearing a black t-shirt. I just go to the school just to practice my right. My right to suffrage “magboto” but how lucky am I. our professor see me. He always wants to see his student wearing uniform. But he stares at me. As a student I know what he wants to convey that I will go out in the vicinity of the school. And without hesitation and even without saying what’s the real reason behind.

future tech... "patient is a virtue" heheheheh

Last Tuesday February 10, 2009. we have presented our future wearable technology. but before the said event happened. Me and my group mates hesitate about it. Since it was Monday when our sketch was approve. Pero okey lng napprove man japun.. well me and ate Norma work hard in our diorama. we made our diorama in ate Norma’s hauz since one of my co-group did not want us to made in her room. We have agreed that she will make our future video but luckily she did not. And she always dabog2 in her room hahaiz….. For me she always thinks that she has done a lot in our project. I don’t know why she acts like that. Maybe because she is the youngest, but it’s not the point she always acts like that. But so much for that I have been so nervous during the event when we presented our future technology. But I have done my part and I hesitate that the person I invited has come. And I thank GOD we have done it right. And to the person who test my patient thank you pud.. may gain nakapugong pako.. heheheheh sunod nalang ko makipagtigi sa imuha… kung mapuno na jud ko.. hahahahah kaila naka sa imung sarili…. Patient is a virtue ingon pa nila… hehehehe mao jud…. Pero kung ang pasensya mapuno… ambot lng unsay mahitabo….. heheheheheheh

personality type

Among the data gathering techniques used in systems analysis are interviewing, document review, observation, and use of questionnaires. Considering your personality type, which of these would you be most comfortable with and why?

Data gathering is very useful especially in creating systems document and system itself also. Data is one of the basis in order to create a functional system by this the data which was gathered is the foundation of the system. As we all know there is no perfect system, as the year’s passes by the needs of the user and the company also changes then the old system will be modified by the data collected before. The analyst will only add the information and so what are the modifications the system need. And for the future analyst, who will take over the system, will make the analyst understand the flow of the system and how they can maintain it.

The data gathering that I am comfortable with is the interviewing. Interviewing gives biggest contribution in gathering data and for me interviewing is the best and easiest way to know how a certain company run and it is also one of the way that the person can say what they want in the flow of the system. Though I’m not good in speaking English but I tried and I think interviewing also can make me confident in speaking in a high rank personnel. Maybe by this I will be hired by the company as one of their personnel because of the wonderful conversation and attitude I had during our company study. Interaction with people is the best way to show your real you. Though I am not a cum laude don’t have any rewards but through interaction with people can make me popular. There is a saying that “how can you use your accomplishment if you don’t have good interaction with people”.

But in gathering data all of the techniques should be considered. In order to make a document review we should have document about the company in order to make the review, since we are not working in the company many question bugging in our mind and question were raised. Therefore, interviewing also needed in document review.

In the near future above mention maybe possible because of the power of mind of the scientist and especially by the students. Since students and especially in our generation formulate the best technology. A person always wants to make their life easier than they can. Even environment was sacrifice because of the advancement of technology. but now people realizes that environment plays a big role in the life of human beings. Now they invented most of technology as nature friendly and health friendly because they observed that the advancement of technology cost a lot of environment to be destruct and even the life of a certain person just to make their experiment perfect.
As for me the preparation I will make to face the changes are being knowledgeable, know how to use the technology, know what the good and bad effects of the technology are and lastly always know how to use the basic of the technology. Being knowledgeable in the latest of the technology. Know how to use the technology in order for me to use the technology properly. Know the good and bad effects of the technology, as we all know things are created with a purpose and thee innovator or the inventor usually think how the technology helps the human kind but in every good effects there were incorporated by the bad effects like the creation of computers, computers produce radiation which is bad in our health and even in the environment therefore we should think whether we use this technology or not.

effects of technological change

Enumerate the effects of technological change in our society and describe and list strategies used in the Philippines to address the skills shortage in advanced technology sectors. (at least 1,500 words)

There are lots of good and bad effects of technological change in our society. But most of the effects of this are good. Just like what we always hear, that technology makes our life easier. Like for example in a company with workers, managers, president and others of course technology is a very big part of their career or to their business. For the workers, technology make their work easier and faster and don’t need for them to work very hard and heavy and it’s a very good effect for them, for the company owners if the their workers produced products or done their works fast they also earn money easily and faster, or in short they benefit from higher yields. In the road, or transportation, technology changing took a very big part too. Because as time passes by low technology has developed to high technology, and this helps a lot in our transportation, like for example the LRT, people don’t need to take many rides because with this they can go to their place in a single ride, and of course this thing makes the traffic easier. Traffic lights and other devices that are made by technology made good effects in our society.

If there is a good effect, there is also bad effects, but most of the bad effects are not being recognize by the people in the society, just like the global warming, not all of us know what causes this global warming, that don’t know that the technology which made our life easier makes our life shorter too. Electromagnetic field from the high technology gadgets can cause bad effects to our body and can bring us to death. Just compare to the Stone Age, where there are no technology existing, people live a hundred of years because there are no such things that will cause them to illness. But as you can notice, as time passes by, as technology is changing into high technology, the lives of the people become shorter; they got lucky if they can step into 50 years of age. Also technological change gives a lot of unemployed people. Since people was replaced by machine.

According to Tech Advisory Board (2008) here are some of good and bad effects in technological changes:
Technology has also brought a social change. The technological devices and other appliances have formed the major part of factories and industries. It has equally helped us in positive or negative way.
• If we talk about the positive effects then it has been the biggest help for the communication purposes. It has bridged the gap between far persons by providing the high tech fully featured mobile phones. These phones are an astonishing example of technology that we can do our office as well as our personal work with the help of durable and portable 3G mobile phones.
• Other important technological invention is computer and Internet. It is just with the help of it that we can share the data easily as well as communicate with others.
• The mp3 players and other electronic devices are the source of our entertainment as we can listen to our favorite songs on it.
But if we talk about its negative impact then there are various inventions that are proving wrong in our lives.
• The major effect occurred badly on our lives is the use of Internet. Though it provides us with the perfect knowledge and long distance communication but it is used for the unethical practices such as hacking, spamming and other criminal offense. Thus it is because of the Internet that cyber crimes are on high rise. Internet gambling has also a major effect on the people’s lives.
• Technology has also affected our lives just because of the introduction of artificial intelligent machines and gadgets. It is because of them that unemployment and thus crime is increasing in industries and other companies.
• Other disadvantage is that excessive use of machines in every field is resulting in under utilization of human brain. It is because of this man may lose his intellectual abilities and may not even be able to think. Another example is Jet planes are flown by the computers but not humans.
• It is even hampering the daily production of newspapers or printing industry as you can get everything on the Internet, easily down loadable music and movies have hampered the growth of music industry.
Skill shortage refers to the lack of the skill of workers. According to Tesda (2007) skill shortage are commonly caused by the faulty in educational system, myopic policy of labor export and the pervasive technical change. Below are some of the strategies in order to deal the problem in skill shortage according to Tesda (2007):
“Expatriation. Results revealed that hiring expatriates in filling vacancies in MNCs is seldom done. Of the surveyed MNCs only 17 percent of managers and less than 1 percent of professional and technical staff are expatriates. The reasons being are the large base of employment hopefuls and the labor market restrictions on the employment of foreigners in the country. Recruitment. Notwithstanding the large pool of applicants, the MNCs still experienced the lack of qualified applicants. Thus, they are employing various modes of recruitment to ensure the competitiveness of the selection process. Job Contracting. More than four-fifths of the Philippine sample were found to outsourced one or several tasks. The most commonly outsourced tasks are those that would require general skills such as maintenance, security and clerical. The main motivation by MNCs for job contracting is to keep its permanent staff lean but mean and for greater flexibility. Multinationals tend to maintain permanent platilla position for firm-specific skills. Training. Sample MNCs indicated that high proportion of employees in all ranks has been exposed to various forms of training whether internal or external to the company as a means of correcting skill deficiencies. Manufacturing firms located in the Philippines tend to spend higher training expenditures compared to Malaysia but lower when compared to those situated in Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Training expenditures for business and services firms were found to be lesser in Indonesia and Malaysia but greater in Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand as compared to the Philippines.”
For me the best strategy to prevent skill shortage is to educate the people and create a curriculum that is fit to the person’s skill. And conduct a training quarterly or annually in order for the person to know the latest in their field and to keep in mind the past learnings they had.

planning for life..

Following the SDLC model, please discuss the acitvities/steps that you will undertake in order to achieve your objective/s in life. what approach(es) would you use, predictive/adaptive?.. your own version of SDLC pls...

In life we have lots of plan. If I would refer my activities in achieving goals in the SDLC model it will be more adaptive than predictive. But I would say that the two approaches will co-inside since the world is round and we can’t predict sometimes what will happen next.

Goal setting
Set my goal in order to have basis in my life

Plan
"The result of planning should be effective, efficient, and economical...that is, suitable for the intended purpose, capable of producing the desired results, and involving the least investment of resources".
- Clark Crouch

Planning is a process in order to achieve my goals in life. I will create a strategic plan to achieve my goals and wants in life.

Implement
I will put in practice my strategic plan. Also by the help of God and my prayers will help in implementing this plan.

Recognition
I will recognize the person that helps me in achieving my goals. And give thank to them for what he/she has done for me in achieving my goals. And most especially God for making all of this in my life no matter it is good or bad.

technology???? reason of climate change???

Prominent book authors said that technology is the biggest contributor to climate change, in you capacity as an IT student, how would you address this global problem? Enumerate steps and actions to be taken. (at least 3,000 words)

Climate change is the rapid change of climates around the world. This changing happens because of some reasons. Like for example burning of fuels, burning of plastics, the smoke that came out from power plants, and also deforestation. This changing of climates will cause global warming. Global warming is the result of rising of temperature cause by the greenhouse gases. Water vapor is an example of greenhouse gas, the result of this gas is called greenhouse effect. Technology is said to be the biggest contributor of global warming.

Using of computers can also be a cause of global warming, radiations came out from computers may cause greenhouse effect, and the heat that it releases may cause too. This can be an example on why technology is the biggest contributor to climate change because as we all know almost all people, company, plantations; factories are now using high technology or computers. Just like plants before, they make manual operations just to control the motors in the plantations, but now they are just using digital power controls in the motor controls.

Most of the high technology equipments now are releasing electromagnetic fields that can cause bad effects. Just like for example the cell phones, the electromagnetic field from it may cause harm to our health. Plantations and factories are the reason why we experience global warming; because of the pollution that it releases it causes holes to our ozone layer. Carbon emissions and greenhouse gases are elements that came from the different technologies, that if being world the atmosphere may cause a climate change or global warming.

What is global warming (Lindinger, 2007) it is defined as the increase of the average temperature on Earth. Earth is getting hotter it is more likely disasters like hurricanes, droughts and floods are more frequent visit the world. According to (Imaginova Corp., 2007) the effects of global warming to be more substantial and more rapidly occurring than others do, the scientific consensus on climatic changes related to global warming is that the average temperature of the Earth has risen between 0.4 and 0.8 °C over the past 100 years. The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years. So it is said to be that people are the primary reason why we experience this king of global warming. Because man always create things to help them to make their work easier and faster without knowing the effects of this technology in the environment and in the earth where we live in. The sun is the Earth’s primary source of energy, sun is star that is so hot which we can sense it’s warm from 150 million kilometers away. The rays the sun enters in the earth’s atmosphere and can be feel in our planet. It is about one third of this solar energy is reflected back into the universe by shimmering glaciers, water and other bright surfaces. Two thirds are absorbed by the earth, warming land, oceans, and atmosphere. A lot of the heat of the sun spread out reverse out into space, but some of this are stored in the earth’s atmosphere. This process is commonly called as the greenhouse effect. Without greenhouse effect, the earth’s average temperature would be in 18 degrees Celsius, even despite the sun’s constant energy supply. In a world like this, life on Earth would probably have never emerged from the sea. The greenhouse effect helps a lot; on the other hand, heat emitted from the earth is trapped in the atmosphere, providing us with a comfortable average temperature of 14 degrees. Sunrays enter the glass roof and walls of a greenhouse. But once they heat up the ground, which, in turn, heats up the air inside the greenhouse, the glass panels trap that warm air and temperatures increase. But our planet has no glass walls; the only thing that comes close to acting as such is our atmosphere. But unfortunately, in here, processes are way more complicated.

As an IT student I can deal myself with the climate change because almost every day I am using a computer, and I and everyday I am using cell phone, new technology equipments that can cause global warming. So in order to minimize the global warming greenhouse effect and what we commonly called climate change here are my simple steps that I can do as an IT student:

1. Minimize using of computer
As we all know computer are the most important thing in student especially in Information Technology student. Because I always used my computer in every assignment, creating programs, encoding papers, researching and most especially in entertainment like playing games and watching movie.
In order to minimize the climate change in the world we must minimize the usage of computers, since computers and other gadget we used are commonly producing some elements like radiation and carbon dioxide that frequently reason why we have global warming and even causes disease like cancer.
I will use my computer in making assignments and major paper only not in playing games.

2. Recycle things
People produce garbage everyday and many of us didn’t know how to separate things like recyclable to non recyclable and biodegradable to non biodegradable. For me in order to minimize global warming I should use my initiative to create a thing out of the garbage and even try to create a thing that can also raise an income out of recyclable things. By this I can help our earth to minimize global warming and also help me to have income.

3. Plant trees
Trees are the main reason why we have oxygen in order for us to breathe. Trees undergo a process called photosynthesis that converting carbon dioxide with the help of the sun to produce oxygen. If we plant trees we can prevent global warming.

4. Segregate
Segregate garbage and dispose it properly.

xmas vacation

Christmas vacation is one of the wonderful vacations that students have especially those students who want to come in their province for the said Christmas day and New Year’s Day. They expect that the vacation will be wonderful and especially to forget about the problems especially about schooling but many of us including me. And think only to bond with the family members that only went home for Christmas but sadly it was not the Christmas vacation I want.

proposal nga system

Think about your approved/proposed systems, is it worth the three or more years of learnings you get from the university? Describe how you arrived with this proposal.

Our proposed system is worth the three or more years of learning that I get in the university, since creating system is not easy and even documenting since many problems arrive during the documentation stage and especially creating the system. And luckily we have undergo some of lesson on how to prevent the problems occur in creating a system. By these I can say that our system proposed system is worth.

Actually our approved proposed system was our second proposal since the first proposal was rejected for some reason. As a group we decided to contact the relative George and he wants us to create a system. And we come up to propose about the payroll system of the FIDA but unfortunately our instructor talks about a payroll system as a simple system. Maybe for him it was simple maybe because he have done many system before and maybe the reason why he say that it is simple is maybe he wants us to create something extra-ordinary that can be presented and can give a reward to us and to the USEP. And maybe by this many companies will hire the USEP student to work in their company.

intrams... kanus-a?????

Intams , intramurals???????? Nag-unza ko ato???????? Hahaiz… well we have a class that day I want to play the softball and basketball in women’s division and represent our college the Institute of Computing because every intramurals I have participated in the said event. But luckily I didn’t participate because of……. intramurals is one of my favorite events in school because I can make work my muscles, tendons and even loss weight and make my mind forget about schooling and think about playing. I miss the cheer dance competition which is one of the events that I want to see because some of my friends in the other colleges join the competition. Para masaway nako akong mga amigo ug amiga sa ilang gipanghimu…. Hahaiz wala jud koy mahimu…
